Looks like the white-space-collapse property is currently in draft phase with limited support. I can always add it in and hope that full browser support will come but some oddities may be present for a while as it was only recently added to the browsers (looks like just a few months ago). Should I go ahead?

This one entered my head the other day for some reason or other:

Couldn’t tell from the picture she sent me. It was so old that the case was in pretty poor condition but the pictures on the card loaded without trouble. She said they were just vacation pictures at water areas around the state

Yep, a new ongoing has been a long time coming! I’m still relatively new to comics but I think she mostly likes to work alone. They just released the solicitations through November (and December in Batman’s case) so it’s time to start picking out covers again! Really liking some of the artwork coming out in a couple of months! πŸ™‚

Oh, no! That’s no fun! πŸ™

Yeah, my mom often gets irritated at their file size limitations. She complains all the time about the reduction in photo quality! πŸ˜›

    I’ll take a look!

in reply to: Software: On & Off the Web #1006

Ah, okay. There’s now an Enhanced Edition for both it and 2!

Will keep an eye on it!

It really does look like a blast! And very flexible. I’m sure there’s a Battleship game somewhere for it, we just need to look πŸ˜›

Used to use them on XP! One of the first ones I used was the one for Alt-Tab previews but I also used a couple of the others. They were quite nice! πŸ™‚

Usually, you need to go to a special event to get Mew so this is wonderful news!

There were some musings about combining the locations into a single game and things about what I’d like to see in a future system but probably nothing all that important. πŸ™‚

in reply to: Films & TV Shows #997

Ah, okay. Thanks! That helps! Wish they had included some of that information more prominently in the film but it probably would have been a bit of a distraction πŸ™‚

Yep, kind of surprised they didn’t do something like that. As it was, it was kind of odd to have a strip club in the middle of nowhere like that. Fun film but a lot of loose ends! πŸ˜›

Yep, their films always have a great blend of music! πŸ™‚

Which version of Piranha? There have been two remakes! Personally, I’m a fan of the original. It’s so campy that you can smell the marshmallows! Was a blast of a film!

Britain has some of the best crime shows. Over here, they’re mostly CSI or Law & Order-esque shows. Always like a good old fashioned mystery like they do in the Commonwealth πŸ™‚

May start watching it this weekend. Kind of in the mood now πŸ™‚

And it’s still available! Been on the list for several years but hadn’t gotten to it! I’m planning to start from the beginning and go from there. Tons of episodes available so it should keep me busy for a while πŸ™‚

Power Girl’s solo series is starting up soon! Will get the first few issues but the special was a blast so I’m definitely looking forward to her solo πŸ™‚

Ugh! Microsoft removed the option to move the taskbar in W11. πŸ™

I always like to have it at the top of the screen to help me focus on things. Fortunately, I can still set it to hidden

And PowerToys has some pretty useful tools!

Mewtwo arrives in two weeks! On top of that, they’re giving away Mew with the code GETY0URMEW. πŸ™‚

    in reply to: Random #984

Yep. Got two SSDs: one has Windows and the other is *nix. I like to keep the two systems separate as Windows Update sometimes likes to do weird things. Learned that the hard way about twelve years ago πŸ˜›

Might be worth a try at some point. It’s designed as sort of an HTPC software package but for games instead of for general use. πŸ™‚

My mom found an old camera in the river a few days ago and, miraculously, the SD card was still completely working!

    in reply to: Random #973

A lot of open source games definitely run better on *nix due to better driver documentation and ease of use of the APIs. But, yeah, we need much more support!

Several years ago, there was a major push to port games to *nix but that practice most stopped after just a few years. Probably from higher development costs for a small audience

Will rebooting shorten the lifespans? I have the operating systems installed on two physical drives. Granted, I’m not overly familiar with these things. Hard drives make sense as they’re mechanical but SSDs I definitely don’t understand. As near as I can tell, the technology is simply magic. “Any sufficiently advanced technology is indistinguishable from magic” as the old saying goes.

Currently playing it on Windows. It’ll work on *nix but I’m trying to separate out the two systems into work and play πŸ™‚

Yep, the character analysis is fascinating!

Maybe! Generally, they were added right below the content. Old versions of IP.Board had them, too!

Digg has gone from an aggregator to curated, StumbleUpon was shut down, and it looks like Delicious also shut down with the brand being traded around for some odd reason or another. Makes me kind of sad πŸ™

Yeah. Canada also has some bad wildfires now, as well πŸ™

The planet is in a lot of pain lately πŸ™

We’ve been getting a fair amount of rain but it hasn’t been cooling things off much. Instead, it’s been 95+F with 100% humidity as a result. Feels like 110F or so. Yuck!

Yep, saw From Dusk till Dawn the other day and it was fun. Definitely not a masterpiece but fun nonetheless! I didn’t understand the ending, though. What was the significance of the half buried pyramid in the final shot? I checked Wiki but they didn’t have any insight on it, just said that it was the final shot

It does sound pretty basic πŸ˜›

Been wanting to watch Midsomer Murders for quite some time. After I catch up on some anime, I may see about giving it a whirl. πŸ™‚

    I do enjoy anime!

in reply to: Software: On & Off the Web #946

Got it on the wishlist! Seriously need to update it some more. πŸ˜›

Never played the previous games, how are they?

Tabletop Simulator looks cool. May pick it up at some point πŸ™‚

Oh, yeah. That jazz is great!

Nowadays, most anime use pop. In the 2000’s, they went through a rock phase. Seems they change up their style every decade or so πŸ˜›

Our frogs get loud! It sounds like a racetrack some of the times πŸ˜›

Here’s one that’s kind of got an RPG vibe to it: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6Xk3AbQ0k6w

And here’s a fun cover of Eruption by Van Halen by one of my favorite Japanese groups.

I love what they’ve done with it!

in reply to: Computer Setup #923

Got another tip that probably holds true for any *nix setup: if you’re installing Windows alongside, then I recommend increasing the boot partition from 500 MB to either 750 MB or 1 GB. While 500 MB used to be okay (it’s been the standard for well over a decade), the boot files have grown to where you run low on space with just a few images and Windows. There’s also the option of changing the compression scheme for the *nix images to shrink them even more. I’ll pull that and share it when I reach that step πŸ™‚

I think I may uninstall (or try to) all of the various language packs that come along with GNOME. I only use the US English variety so I don’t see why I need the others installed. Unless, of course, they add viewing support. Going to need to check on things first

Definitely going slow but I’ve been rather slow lately. On the bright side, I should have the basics fixed up soon! πŸ™‚

Going to try and get Gramps tested out for you in a couple of days. πŸ™‚

Portal is a wonderful game! Been playing Portal 2 since I picked it up for less than a dollar on sale the other day. GladOS is pretty upset, to say the least!

Yeah, I missed out on Psychonauts too. I really need to change that one day!

We called them share links I think. πŸ™‚

Some of those sites are no more and I do miss them. πŸ™

Huh, never noticed that site before. Will definitely need to peruse their content some more. You can never have too much cowbell! πŸ˜›

So here’s another one from the vault (one of my earliest ones, in fact): https://web.archive.org/web/20080410072412/http://www.game-ism.com/?p=91

The original site the article was on is long gone but I managed to pull it up via the Internet Archive πŸ™‚
