Further random blatherings prompted by investigations from no dialogue from the courtesan in the NW section of East Baldur’s Gate. It turns out her message was the single utterance of a carriage return!

      1. After a lengthy and somewhat painful Google-ude (Google interlude), found that Debug Mode=1 doesn’t work for console access in this game edition, rather:

        [Game Options]
        Cheats=1

      2. The baldur.lua file popular with the EE is non-existent on this install, as is the existence of any My Documents\Baldur's Gate folder and the lesser known similarly named subdirectory which may show up in AppData\Local\VirtualStore.
      3. There’s quite a variety of ini settings, many are explained as at Beamdog or Reddit, not yet found a meaning for:

        Memory Level=1

Know that Memory Access=100 sets the blood & gore to that level. 😛

      4. For EE, Github hosts an ini config app for Infinity engine here and here, no mention of the base game, so use at own risk.
      5. The save file editor parses the contents well enough, haven’t tested it by writing yet.
      6. One option for improved rendering in the game is the WineD3D patch, upside: nice program, downside: extra files.

        Thanks for checking!
Is that the new Notepad? How strange, was Notepad closed before the Back to PrgLnch button was clicked?
Yes, there’s a bunch of weird stuff going on with it, will update when back on W11. 🙂

Down deep in dungeons, the un-pausing of the game while in inventory gets one’s goat after a while, mainly due to the fiddly nature of full inventories. Fortunately, it can be paused, by copying over the saves to the multiplayer save directory, and setting up a solo MP game, as it were.
Fine, save for a couple of hiccups mentioned over at GOG. 😛

Has happened here on the odd occasion as well, usually turns out to be something awry with the switches.
The stain is odd, rust should generally rinse out – always rinse in cold here. For the existence of rust in the HWS or even the pipes, no issue with water for the bath or shower? How old is the hot water tank btw?

As well as the Frigidaire, this establishment sports a fine and trusty Simpson Delta 402 washing machine.

The top image is how it looks now, the bottom, way back. Acquired in 1990, it has to date accommodated many a load without so much as a sneeze, notwithstanding the horrendous number of dirty hankies it has suffered unto. The only issue to date was the replacement of the broken lint catcher some years ago. Now, the drain pipe having caught the morning sun for many years, has developed small splits, so consequently it is held together by a few winds of handy gaffer tape. 🙂

In toying with the idea of peeping under the hood re the caching system used, typed in a block of text as a reply to some topic without posting it. To determine if it was cached, found no updates at all when filtering Stearn in ChromeCacheView (sorting LastAccessed). If the test was not setup correctly, might be a question for the WP or SO forums.

Nice, there’s a nice scene in Apocalypse Now with that playing.
Heard of Sam Sklair? Plays the flute, clarinet, and a host of other instruments. Here’s a nice one:

He also created some synth-y stuff in the eighties like Touch Tone Keyboard in The MicroChip Revolution. That’s the playlist, where the track names are instantly recognizable.
Also contributed to a combo album made with Claude Larson, where can be heard things like Computer Toys.

Ah, the 1988 original. The 2019 film is also a slasher. 🙂
Descent 2 played out the way one expected it, provided they had seen Descent 1, thus not so much dramatic tension, and no variation from the effects of pathos. 🙁
Also streaming Zola, it’s lively, and rather risque. 🙂

Seen a bit of scoffing at QT on SO threads and others, it’s not all that bad is it?
Unity is introducing a surcharge on distribution of their runtime libraries on end-user machines. Without any sweeteners, no doubt comes across like a kick in the guts first and foremost to their pro and enterprise clients.

Very interesting! Are the English DBZK episodes dubbed or subtitled – info not often easy to get via Googling or even on Wikipedia.
The Descent is rather depressing, saying that is actually a spoiler if you intend to watch it, so belated spoiler alert!
Streaming Noughts + Crosses at the moment – nicely put together and presented with a nicely paced plot, you won’t be bowled over by the superfluity of incisive dialogue though.
Started to really getting into The Control Room, when it ended all of a sudden after three episodes. Funny these days how we are all getting acclimatised to 6 or more episodes in a said series. 😛
Oh, the dialogue in Boiling Point is very much in the idiom of the theatre of the stage, and therefore quite something else, even if I didn’t quite get all of it. Blame the lack of subtitles, my hearing, sound recording, restaurant hubbub, and the poor acoustics – after all, it was a real restaurant. Recommended.

Edited the OP, turns out the vanilla Override folder in the New directory was pointed to, and the extra files in the original Override folder caused the resolution exception. Must have contained some widescreen mod files that somehow got misconfigured or mangled – who knows? Edit: The extra files are viewable here, and all date from around 2001, so must be have been from a re-issue of part of another earlier official patch most likely 1.3.5521.

How about devising a new game based on an old one – like a game of “Prong”, involving the wielding of a pointed implement capable of popping balls bouncing of walls. Well- er, if the mechanics of such a game will not inspire, the name is catchy enough, no?
No candy store in the immediate locale, one which boasts of being “environmentally focussed” might do well though.
Yes, he likes it there, it’s a thoroughfare section though, so being tripped over and trodden on would come with the territory. Alternately, a nice, cosy spot nearby is one he will take to quite willingly. 🙂
Ah yes, do allow this confession coming on strong, the first line in the article for Rin Tin Tin is “not to be confused with …”. Well, it turns out an irrefutable fact that the confusion did once exist, even to the point of imagining Snowy as some kind of international version Rin Tin Tin. 🥴

Probably not, for no other good reason than the other squillion games waiting on the to-do pile. 😛
Yeah, seems that way looking at this post at GOG, but things have changed somewhat since then. Reading from the general consensus from this thread at Reddit, if you were to acquire the game now, get the EE. In purchasing the game around 2007, the choice was not available, as Beamdog was not even embryonic. 😛
