The “read” bubble immediately dissipating within the forum thread after reading, but not in the main or root forums page points to an indication that at least something in there is off. π
Happening very often since the move to TPP, there is a tip here which offers a code fix for the theme’s function.php:
add_filter( ‘bbp_verify_nonce_request_url’, ‘my_bbp_verify_nonce_request_url’, 999, 1 );
function my_bbp_verify_nonce_request_url( $requested_url )
{
return ‘http://localhost:8888’ . $_SERVER[‘REQUEST_URI’];
}Might be worth investigating. π
Not off the top, there’s a list of movie candidates at this forum, and here’s a bonus horror gag, try and coax ChatGPT et al to come up with a close match!
At present streaming Vienna Blood, had the impression it was released earlier than it was, very watchable, nothing in it (especially the wishy-washy, yet all too soapy sponging of the protagonists’ internal dramatics) to bowl the critics over, unfortunately.
Although La Brea got a good panning, there’s something about the threat/soap/hardcore aspect of the delivery that makes for good background noise. The application of “sc-fi” to the genre of the show won’t stick anywhere, except down the tube. π
Oh, and watched Zombieland through dinner tonight, thus not enjoying it quite as much as one should. π
Oh, and on FTA there was I Know What You Did Last Summer, engineered specifically and obviously for a setting up a franchise, so a bit formulaic. It so much wanted to be different than previous Slashers, too, so the plot suffers a little – yet holds a nice brew of shocks and surprises that are not conducive to excess froth at the mo’.Speaking of farts, one came up on the FTA news show regarding John Kerry at Dubai on Sunday:
The good articles are most likely behind a paywall, which means signing up to a subscription somewhere. Happy enough over here to pick up a mag in the newsagents and follow up on Google regarding anything that lights up. There’s always something somewhere for an enquiring mind.
As it so happens in such times as these (and with the silly season approaching), nothing feedwise has emerged from the usual sources like CodeProject, and the Youtube notifications have dried up as well. ππ Considering the density of the atmosphere, it’s amazing one can hear anything at all! They also have the sound of a meteoroid striking the planet’s surface and breaking up, … to this ear not quite as expected – wonder how big it was?
Good to know, how many base stations are there?
No, hoping it’s just a glitcho with hibernate, repeat occurrences will not be savoured at all!
Sounds like something on the contacts, can be a bit of moisture, or even insects or spiders, over here the old Sherwood RX-5502 has a bit of leakage which causes a crackle every time the TRS cord is pulled. π
Why a light – nice if they are dimmable nightlights, yuck otherwise.
Remember posting this spoof at AL, it was on again yesterday. πOnly a minute this time, so just doing nothing makes it get better? The object cache is supposed to boost BP some, if this is the cost, the surefire way to troubleshoot were to inactivate BP before reading an incoming reply. Assume it safe to do (as with Cleantalk) when plugin settings are usually preserved.
Down to about 3-5 minutes now, the change used to be immediate- perhaps something else broke.
Enjoyed those, the American accents give the characters a new dimension, don’t think the other recreations were quite as good.
Weird that the reviews are that mixed, one mentioning a clunky plot – go fig! And the “not to be confused with” redirect Psyco Ripper the wrestler, the original Psicosis was born later, and very popular in US wrestling shows back in the day.
Not many old movies on replay free to air these days, however they are playing some of the original Law & Order shows. The original and best, the pithy plots and witty dialogues tower over the productions in the the other L & O spinoffs, cementing it in as an all time classic of that genre.
The FTA channels over here have to be taken over by the streaming services, as it looks more and more as if they are set for transitioning to become 24/7 shopping channels, all ~20 of them. Someone help us please. πAs it was my impression some of gaming houses that ran Magic, The Gathering were run by a bunch of creeps, never got into them, although Jyhad is a scream. Nowadays, there seems to be a set of more definitive rules in PokΓ©mon, good if there is a venue nearby to try them out, otherwise surf online.. For my benefit at least, here’s a video on the basics:
Lobsters of the world: Vibrate and gyrate in this strange garden of stars:
Sky have a nice little collection of space sounds from NASA:
π While contemplating engagement in Godville, chanced upon a Random Axe of Kindness.
How do the VR base station work- is it just audio/visual or something else?
Nothing like a cool change, after a very dry year, we are also receiving some much needed rain.
Funny thing happened with hibernate resume, pressing escape out of the W11 lockscreen (which wants to be turned off) the screen looked like a still version of the sea in this Fata Morgana animation:

Hard reset required, and, talking of wonderful Windows, got this in the feed, of course an OEM version here, funnily enough no difference in price to the retail version, so to all intents and purposes it’s identical to the retail. Any difference with yours?Haven’t seen any of those, was the early one silent? Did any of those movies ever “do justice” to the book, as with Through the Looking Glass, a priceless masterpiece.
Did happen to see the original Piranha the other day, funny thing is, do now faintly recall seeing it many years ago. Nice one, with plenty of thrills, with respect to such the classification of Comedy Horror is somewhat misleading, Light Horror is a better fit. If you will, the subject and impact of the movie’s horror scenes are portrayed in a somewhat lighter vein.
The whys and wherefores of the satirical movie Bamboozled came out as somewhat … bamboozling, notably in ways the director and writers had not intended. Do like the ads though:
Nice. What’s it for?
We’ve been having some icky weather lately. It’s been about 65 – 70ish with extremely high humidity lately so the humidity inside is around 75% and has been 100% outside. Not fun! The next project around here for the handyman is to replace the weatherstripping. That should help! Due to the temperature range, running the air conditioner won’t really do much other than drive up the electric bill needlessly so it’s a mite uncomfortable here.
Yes, over here the A/C is an option of last resort. Else, in sultry weather it’s windows wide open with a brisk fan blowing throughout. The fan here has a loud creak only fixable by slicing open the smooth and shiny shielding, an action entailing permanent excision from the present dΓ©cor. π
Oh, bugger, will repost. As being an issue, raised a request at WP if for no other reason than to put it out there!
A graveyard smash indeed- now it’s time for a holiday!
On the shiny new SSE machine now, so won’t get back to Baldur’s until April. Do remember a large number of quests popping up once the team has passed Wyrm’s Crossing though. π
The support team for Smeg didn’t want the 100 mb video file created and edited with Clipchamp. So, the easiest thing to do was use Youtube filtering to get the thing down to just under 12mb, at the same resolution.
It’s shockingly bad!
Speedtest provide reasonable results for this connection, the upload speed is low according to typical DSLAM configuration. It took more than thirty minutes to upload that video to youtube, if only the upload speed was 1MBS or even half that – all done in under five minutes.We’re all going to be wafted up to the cloud(s), where the future promises a safe haven for our souls, thoughts and aspirations. leaving all earthly concerns, and hardware behind. π
Meanwhile, after a kind lady asked me to re-install OneDrive, had absolutely tons of hours of fun with it, completely free of charge. That is, all charge of energy has been drained from this form, leaving a lifeless OneShell of OneNess in OneLimbo! πEdit: The notifications dropdown on youtube used to have clipped text for the first words in the video description, they have now replaced it with “For you”. Even though it’s very nice of them to say that, it’s futile attempting to stave off the advancing notion that something has been (un)intentionally barfed. π
Nice, do declare the scourer/sponges here are well used, and at the same time not too hard on the nose. π
Watch those sponges! There was someone on the radio today with something to say about carnivorous sponges. Here’s a refresher:
In the actual Windows boot, do they up the performance of the power plan until the core system is loaded? Because of the size of the hosts file, it’s taking a long time for the internet to come online after boot, hence the question. -
