😀
Sounds good, we can definitely use that approach. I’ve gone ahead and copied the post into the all encompassing thread. 🙂
I know that a lot of things are waiting for BuddyPress to update as that may break some things but is there anything else that we should look at working on in the meantime?
Noticed a strange thing this morning. The Private: General forum is listed on the index as having no topics but they’re still there when you click on it. Huh?
Sorry, I misunderstood! I thought it was mainly for organizational things. 😛
Should we can this on and use that one, then?
Canned threads doesn’t sound all that appetizing 😛
Lovely!
And, in a similar vein, NASA released audio clips of Mars: https://mars.nasa.gov/mars2020/participate/sounds/?playlist=mars&item=mars-helicopter-flying&type=mars 😀
We lost a lot of momentum with various technical difficulties but let’s see if we can get it back!
Or Crawlspace. Rat traps would make for a fun haunted house 😛
Another idea is to twist everything up so it’s like the beginning of Wonderland and have the furniture carved in such a way that it’s still functional despite its appearance. Could be fun!
Hmm, a water labyrinth may be doable. Hamster tubes with surprises littered around? Would need a pump system to expel the excess water back into the tank, too.
I have two but you can add more if you want greater accuracy or a larger playing area.
I’ve noticed that it doesn’t occur as often if I turn the controller on before the computer. This morning, though, it started crackling while the computer was going through POST so I flipped the controller off and back on again and that got them back up and running again. Will need to do a deep dive!
The lights are for the settings and notification to change the filters but my other purifier has an option to turn off the lights! If they get too annoying, I may just slap some duct tape over them 😛
😀
It’s getting harder and harder to get good science articles in the Google News feed. For some reason, they keep pushing political and social stories on me (I don’t care about whether or not someone farted on a plane (I kid you not, that was an article they thought I’d be interested in)) even though I keep telling them to give me science! This AI trend isn’t all it’s cracked up to be 😛
I’m still hoping to get back to being able to post some articles of interest for us to discuss but it’s hard to get them!
Seems to be a bit more inconsistent when logged out but that should be okay but it’s something we may want to look at further if we ever open the forums up to the public more 🙂
Looks like the timing is set in the TTL tab and under Objects (no idea what Objects are in this context)
Got a couple of Coway Airmega 1512s the other day. They work really well but I do wish I could turn the lights off that they’ve got. As it is, I’ve got blue, green, red, orange, and white lights all over now so the rooms look pretty festive. 😛
Will keep an eye out! 🙂
Yeah, it’s weird. Slashers usually have a superficial plot but this one was much better than any I’ve seen in that regard. I also find it interesting that they condemned the reason for the killings as thin.
On a related note, I have an old memory of my childhood of a story of a serial killer who used to keep his victims’ heads in jars because a voice told him to. Does that ring a bell at all? I can’t recall if it was a book, film, actual event, old wives’ tale, or just a disturbing dream
Yeah, we’re seeing something similar here. While the national owners of the network plan out reruns at certain times, the local affiliates are doing infomercials instead for those optional blocks so there’s often only twelve hours of actual programming now starting at noon and ending after the late shows around midnight. I miss catching the early morning reruns on weekends 🙁
I do like OTA as it means I don’t need to figure out what I’m in the mood for. I wish streaming services would add a random feature. I’ve been wanting one for years!
😀
Progress Quest was quite entertaining! Sometimes I’d just sit there and watch it do its thing. 😛
Sounds good 🙂
I think performing a full backup and then updating to the new BuddyPress would be worth a try and then restoring if things go belly up. I can’t imagine that the changes are so great that they’d break a pretty basic existing install.
That clears it up 🙂
Could always still switch to Ventra at some point in the future if TPP doesn’t go well. 🙂
I tried Magic a few years back but I couldn’t get into it either
Jyhad looks interesting, will need to ask around and see if there’s much of an interest for it here. Failing that, there may be an add-on for Tabletop Simulator 🙂
I do have some old Pokemon cards but I never did attempt to play it (Yugioh is more my area but, sadly, the local community here comes and goes making it difficult to play consistently) but could be worth a try.
I do play online some but I like playing in person so that I can be around people since there’s few other ways for me to socialize around here. Not exactly a good town for it and our transportation system isn’t very good. With the way the bus routes are, it’d take me two hours just to get downtown (same as walking) 🙁
Anyways! Bemoaning the lack of things to do is deviating from the purpose of the thread. That and I moan about it too much anyways…. 😛
Eventually, I do need to figure out a better way of keeping track of my cards. Been toying with the idea of entering them into a database (used to keep them in a spreadsheet years ago) but maybe that’s overkill?

I’m a bit confused. Are we using TPP or Ventra for hosting now?
Sounds good. 🙂
We need some humor after the last month of issues! Why did the surf board run away? It saw the irony of the situation 😛
Give me a bit and I can see what I can do! 🙂
Hopefully it can become serviceable without too much hairpulling! What all needs to be done?
The one I got is from the old show from the 70s. Should be a nice listen! 🙂
Not much of a classical market here, sadly, so I’ll probably need to order those. Several years back, ThinkGeek was selling the OSTs for Star Wars and Lost in Space on vinyl, which would have been nice to have.
Will do! Probably time we set up a TCG thread anyhow 🙂

Nope, not silent! And in color, too!
Alice was a combination of both books but mostly the first one. It was really fun! Of course, my mom has always hated it as she never thought that it made any sense 😛
I bring you the Mad Tea Party segment:

😀
Sorry, I couldn’t find a full clip on YouTube of the scene 🙁
Saw The New York Ripper the other day and, while pretty graphic, it was really good. Unlike most slashers, it had a really deep and well constructed plot.
Got to the record store yesterday! Picked up some new copies of Metallica’s Ride the Lightning and Green Day’s American Idiot and a used copy of the soundtrack for the original Battlestar Galactica. Really looking forward to breaking them in! 🙂
Thought about the card situation and I think I’ll give it one more attempt to modernize things before I sit down and have a deep discussion with myself about how to move forward.
