I do like having discs around. They’re quite handy! I used to take a laptop on school trips (along with a few discs, of course) so that I could watch films with my friends in the hotel rooms. We’d also watch them on the bus. Can’t do that with streaming!

Yep. Started watching Scream the other day after finishing the Friday the 13th series and the Scream films are a blast! They’re mostly slasher films with comedy mixed in. They poke fun at slasher film tropes and even include some pop culture references here and there. For instance, Craven shows up as a janitor dressed as Freddy. 😛

Well, we do have KFC vending machines 😀

And, whoops, I copied the Farm of Tomorrow twice! Meant to have the House of Tomorrow in there!

Might be some fun ideas in there that we could borrow!

Tex Avery cartoons were some of the best. I loved his off the wall humor. He got canned from WB after displaying Bugs falling off a cliff, though. 🙁

I doubt that it will ever see the light of day but it’s fun to develop on paper!

    Some more from the vault:

We also had the entrances to the lands being the accommodations being themed around the land. So, for instance, the paleolithic area would have you sleeping in cave like rooms. The idea being that it’s a stop over of sorts on your way to the destination.

Regarding the shops, we were discussing making them very automated with lifts and tubes for inventory control and a virtual fitting room. The virtual fitting would use a mirror layered with a transparent OLED screen to show the outfits. Using a series of cameras and some vision software, it could be shown to be placed on the reflected image itself

Great! We could also use a camera obscura to give more lifelike images for nighttime events. 🙂

    I miss old cartoons!

Watched Nightmare on Elm Street the other day. While good, it wasn’t exactly my cup of tea. For some reason, I have a hard time getting into supernatural horror films. I like the corniness of creature-features and slasher films 😛

Extracting some stuff from my brain….

We had an idea for experiencing Greek myths, we also had restaurants being run by LEGO robots, and we had WALL-Es cleaning up the place while being charged with solar power.

We also had a ride that explored the solar system. Do you recall the details on that one? I only have a vague impression of it in my mind

Rather slow going but I’m trying to extract as much of the goodies from Teams as I can from my brain since it doesn’t look like we’ll be able to access the content from Teams again, sadly.

    😀

Virtual! She doesn’t even drink water anymore, only coffee! 😛

Well, she has a caffeine crash some gametime later. I haven’t installed a tea infuser yet. I do wonder which she’ll prefer. 😛

The game is fun but I do miss the wide-open world of The Sims 3.

Feel free to start up a jokes thread whenever!

Lovely! Would make some great music to pair with a super cut of lights blinking on technology! Cut from a fax machine to a modem to a mainframe…. 😀

Sorry! I thought I had hit the submit button!

Don’t remember too much of Apocalypse Now. My attention kept wandering while it was on…. 😛

I should probably fix that. I remember bits and pieces, though!

Older films had better music than recent ones, in my opinion. Licensing has gotten to be such an issue that many just use as little as possible now. 🙁

Sent an email off to their support team about upgrading. May need to make a forum post but they didn’t have a category for general advice. Hopefully support won’t be upset that I used it for a sales question 🙂

Weird! That sounds like a translation file got messed up somewhere

Memory access defines the blood level…? I really don’t understand that logic 😛

So are you running it on Linux, then?

    in reply to: Random #1248

My Sim has developed a coffee addiction. Right before she is supposed to sleep, she made three cups of coffee and drank each one immediately after the other 😛

    in reply to: PrgLnch #1245

Yep, new version and, yep, I had closed it before I clicked to go back. 🙂

in reply to: Hardware Relics #1243

Nope but we do have heavy mineral deposits in the area, which may be part of the issue. I’ve had many a spigot clog up! 😛 A water softener may help at some point

Got it three years ago after the old one kicked the bucket. Not only has it been leaking but the heating coils crapped out.

I may try running some vinegar through the washer in case there’s something lurking in there 🙂

in reply to: Hardware Relics #1239

    Amazingly well preserved!

My washer isn’t holding up nearly as well. No idea what year it’s from but it’s relatively recent. It’s developed a short that causes it to sometimes skip the spin cycle so I need to run the spin cycle manually. 😛

Another annoyance that may be due to the water quality here (not sure) is that it’ll stain the clothes with what looks like rust stains. Minor staining but annoying all the same. Some clothes stain quicker than others, which is weird. My socks, for instance, don’t have any stain marks on them at all while my shirts get the staining. I don’t understand what’s up.

We should probably test out the PM system and see if there’s anything in there we’ll want to change up.

I also fixed up the width for one of the text boxes in the compose message area. For some reason, it was using a slightly different selector and was set to !important so our changes weren’t taking effect. 🙂

Yeah, I couldn’t get them to show up either but Edge and Chrome do run the same rendering engine. May try Firefox when I get the chance and see what happens 🙂

    in reply to: PrgLnch #1233

    Sorry for the delay!

So it launches Notepad without issue save for a bunch of resolution warnings (I’m running a 4k monitor at 144 HZ) and, on exit, the Back to PrgLnch button yelled at me about a missing window and took a few seconds to allow me to click it.

I downloaded the zip from GitHub but there may be a better way to handle things. I suppose I could use Git on Windows, though

    🙁

Sounds like it might be a bug in bbPress then. No telling when the next version will get pushed out :/

in reply to: MS Teams Biz #1225

Okay, I finished cleaning things up and forwarded it along. I haven’t added the extra explanations yet but I’ll do that when I convert some of the items into forum posts. I apologize for the delay.

I really need to get the font situation resolved on Linux. I increased the font size with the accessibility option but the fonts are still a bit small for comfort. Sadly, fonts on *nix have always been a bit finicky to work with. Worst case, I bump them up per application instead of a global override.

I’ve updated the dummy test thread. Any luck with it?

And dummy has a new voice!
