From what I understand, on-device accounts don’t link to the web version so that could explain why

Generally, kids don’t understand things as well. I can definitely understand where folks are coming from with that. Now, if they had added educational resources to the ride to sort of turn it into an “exhibit”, I think that would have gone a long ways to alleviating a lot of the controversy
On a different note, DC is crossing over with Weird Al:…[Read more]

Most of them are offline games but the wiki is a wonderful community resource that isn’t necessarily restricted to Arch (or even Linux to some extent). 🙂
Yuck. They also added
.7zarchive support a few years back. Personally, I’d still use 7-Zip for that since it provides more options for handling the files. Granted,.tararchives are pretty…[Read more] -

No AMD? 🙁
And don’t forget to turn on the virtualization support if you’ll be running VMs or DOSBox! 🙂
Sounds good. 🙂

Pretty much! I don’t even use vanilla extract, except for when I’m baking for others 😛
Can’t taste it in the baked goods, anyways 🙂
A lot of the issues are due to human error and how the humans interact with the robots. As the humans are removed from the equation, the issues will become fewer. There’s also the fact that the software is still…[Read more]

I do wish it came with images as it’s not always clear about what’s being described. Will need to review it in depth. 🙂
Yeah, Reddit results on Google seem to include posts pulled from other threads sometimes. Something with Google’s crawler, I’m sure.
There are some odd ones on that page. The chicken one describes the chicken running off the…[Read more]

ifixit is a good resource for tools, parts, and repair guides. However, they do focus mostly on more modern stuff. I do wonder if there’s a site that focuses on vintage tech. Definitely trying to find out!

And Heinz is on the list as well so they probably have ketchup somewhere on the grounds.
Never got into hot sauce myself, even though I like spicy food. The sauce always tasted off to me compared to simply cooking the dish with hot peppers. My jambalaya recipe calls for jalapeno peppers but I may opt for something a little stronger as they’re a…[Read more]

Started watching anime again the other week as I was getting tired of other stuff 😛
Been enjoying it. Don’t know why but it’s hard for me to connect emotionally with other stuff. Can’t even connect to old stuff even if I do enjoy watching it.
Going to plan to watch Code Geass again soon. It’s always a good one, essentially a social commentary…[Read more]

Currently on PopOS but I’ll probably switch to openSUSE if things get too annoying. Fixed most of the annoyances by switching to Cinnamon, though. 🙂
I’d recommend Leap for the VM. While I love Tumbleweed, it is a rolling release so it tends to change more often. That can be a bit of a drawback if you’re not using it regularly as you may need to…[Read more]

Yep, it’s all very confusing but gvsbuild looks like it should take care of most things. The key is to tell it to build gtkmm as it’s supposed to take care of the process of building the dependencies. Let me know if I need to clarify anything, much of this is from what I gleaned while reading the source code for gvsbuild. 🙂
This process won’t…[Read more]

Have a similar issue with purging elephant ears. I’ve tried just about everything short of herbicide, which I’m not a fan of. I don’t want to poison the ground.
A few years back, I dug out about a hundred pounds of ginger roots as they reproduce like crazy and they’re already coming back! Clearly I missed some roots. 😛

Yeah, I’m not exactly sure how practical musical encryption would be but could be a fun research project. 🙂
They’re actually making some progress on turning thoughts into images and text in the lab. Currently, the image generation is very fuzzy and lacks resolution but should improve as the lookup tables get fleshed out based on brain…[Read more]

Had some interesting bits come in the last few days.
First up, we have what was once a chaotic Minecraft server: https://2b2t.place/1million
Don’t download the world: it’s over 15 TB!
And the program that gave birth to Comic Sans is now open source: https://opensource.microsoft.com/blog/2026/07/16/microsoft-comic-chat-is-now-open-source/

Had an interesting dream the other night about a topic my mind referred to as musical cryptography. The concept was that you could, in theory, hide data streams in music using a specific combination of instruments as the key(s) to decode the data. The example given in the dream used a specific series of instruments to translate the notes into…[Read more]

Ren and Stimpy was a lot of fun. I’ll need to see if I can watch it again as it’s been a while.
Here’s some more of the songs: https://movieweb.com/ren-and-stimpy-best-songs-ranked/
They also used a lot of classical music.
Did they ever do a holiday episode? I honestly can’t remember.

They’re working on a Moonbase for our moon but it’s on the surface, as far as I know. There’s been proposals about using the lava tubes on Mars if we ever get there. One thing I never see mentioned outside of books is tunneling into the space rocks themselves. Granted, it’ll depend on the hardness of the material and stability.
Yeah, the article…[Read more]

New coffee research: https://www.gearpatrol.com/food/physics-of-fluids-study-paper-9-bar-espresso-standard-research/
Not up to tracking down the original source but the gist of it is that your espresso machines are likely using more pressure than needed, with the rest being wasted
Need some ideas for a new hobby, too. 😛
