  • Rooting does give you more access to the underlying Linux system and lets you do things you wouldn’t otherwise be able to do, such as interface with your computer. It’s mostly for tinkerers and not all devices are easily rootable. In order to continue to update the software, you’ll need to unlock the bootloader and then install a custom ROM which…[Read more]

Um, sounds like you might be considering loading up Starfield.
Not tempted to see the TV series then?
After years of swarms of vinegar Flies happily feasting on the citrus/onion scraps in a bucket in the laundry, there has occurred a mass extinction event. Possibly bacteria, but no perceived odour.

  • Yep, I highly recommend it if you’re up for something campy!

Haven’t seen it myself but I have been wanting to see it for a while. It is somewhat famous, though, for slapping a ton of makeup on Tim Curry!

    Could be!

Haven’t had much chance to watch much lately with everything going on but I am enjoying Midsomer Murders. 🙂

    Oh, yes, amazing music!

  • With enough shopping points accumulated, it was time to make the plunge and nab an S8 Tab. The current S10.1 Tab still works beautifully, although out of O/S support, the 16GB is still plenty of memory, whereas the S8 has a whopping 128GB, most of which will probably not be planned for access. Is there any point in rooting the old S10.5, or should…[Read more]

So I read the first book in the Wheel of Time series and it wasn’t exactly my cup of tea. I found it way too similar to Lord of the Rings for my tastes. The plot was almost a carbon copy without all the fantasy creatures so it didn’t really feel all that original.

  • Spastic Hamburger replied to the topic Random in the forum Discussion 1 year, 2 months ago

I could try it on Linux, certainly! It’s really just VR that must be done on Windows due to how the driver layers work 🙂

Cracked used to be good but I haven’t checked in on them in at least ten years while The Onion is always a hoot! 🦉

    Could be! 😀

I do want to get back to writing in there. Maybe the new features will help give me…[Read more]

Going to play The Sims on Windows again? Might go nicely with Vulkan on Linux.
Yes, MAD has gone entirely to Reprintsville, there will be nothing like it again, I’m afraid. Yet, … still looking. 🙂
Sounds like they they have found a template, or at least the rock had an idea of what you were looking for, and ran off to get it!

    Ouch! All my kerf…

Was testing load temperatures today while playing No Man’s Sky (they’re much lower than I expected in the 70 – 80 C range) to see if I should consider doing some cooking upgrades and, while mining. The rock grew legs and ran away! They’ve changed the game a lot since I last played 😛

  • It was the original, and back on the watchlist as might have confused it with something else. 🙂
Don’t get all of the negative feedback on Legend, even though Scott did take on the task of pruning a fair chunk off the original to “suit the locale.” It’s a fantasy after all, and seemed to be adequate for the genre, although some of the scenes were…[Read more]

I was at the store the other day and saw they had the Mad Film Special compilation so I went ahead and grabbed it. Have some of the content in my old issues (I remember some of the cartoons) but it should be fun!

  • Spastic Hamburger replied to the topic Random in the forum Discussion 1 year, 2 months ago

Yep! That’s a good one! I may have to flip a coin. 😛

I do like the traditional covers but I also like to the get the fun ones every now and then. Such as this one. That one is great! 😀

But it lends a better flavor to pie crusts! I tend to use olive oil a lot when making pie crusts. Bit unorthodox but I love the strong flavor! 🙂

    The Sims 4…[Read more]

Second one is more in character, also like the retro ones.
Always thought pork fat was much healthier than beef fat. Turns out, not that much. 😛

  • Certainly, or even some aspect of the card itself. Has been tested before. Nothing in the NVIDIA logs of interest, the times of the logged events (adjusted to local time only in their backup files) all point to the time when the driver is loaded. Nothing in the shell, CBS or DISM logs either.
And there’s always the drama with bootup. 😛

Trying to pick out the Power Girl cover for October is hard! I like both of the primary variants! 😛

  • Any chance it could be the video card drivers restarting? I haven’t had constant Explorer crashes since the XP days but have experienced similar behavior with bad video drivers

Really weird there was never a desktop version for YouTube shorts, so that the layout would be more like the regular length videos. All that white space, and two clicks just to get the description. So did a bit of googling to answer this question.
The purpose of which was to view this video in…

  • Yeah, just tested it in simulated mobile mode here and I get the same thing. Definitely a difference in browser behavior. Really not sure how to fix it on the computer :/

  • Saw Jaws yesterday! It was fun but I still liked Piranha more. 😛

  • When considering trying out the unpaid version of Personal Vault (PV for short), be urged to read the fine print beforehand, or incur all of what has befallen to this poor user in resorting to threads such as this for reference.
The extra 2FA security layer did look attractive at the time, so, upon activation through the explorer shell, the first…[Read more]

  • This could be very much a machine specific issue, as this one has form. Just before submitting an edit to a post, Windows Explorer kicked the pail and restarted, and the Edge tabbed windows assumed a different order. Nothing in the system logs for that, so no way to ever determine if these things could ever be related.
    After submitting the post…[Read more]
