Haven’t been able to watch much on demand lately due to the Internet issues over here so I’ve been catching the horror marathons OTA like they do every year. Caught a lot of the classic Dracula films, The Day the Earth Stood Still, among others π
Poltergeist has been on the list!
Speaking of mirror scenes in horror films, I need to rewatch Casper. That was fun!
Not that I can see. Their link to the outage information is just a generic link to tell you how to report outages and how to be notified of them :/
Been stable since yesterday morning, which is good, but time will tell if it’s fixed. It started a few weeks ago with a bad outage and has been rather flaky up until the weekend when it belly up from Saturday to yesterday morning. I took the opportunity to start reading V for Vendetta again π
Yeah, I think they do that for memory reasons. Bit annoying sometimes, though, when I have an article open that I’m wanting to go back to just to have it say no connection. Fortunately, the Wikipedia app doesn’t have that issue π
Continuing my research with getting the pieces in place for the final product, Arduino recommends using a Java library for vision. Since we’ll be using C++, that won’t be ideal but can be workable by creating a JNI wrapper, for instance. I haven’t gotten too far into this research, though, so it’s entirely possible that the firmware supports a native C++ library as well.
Something seriously broke over at my Internet provider recently. The past several days, they’ve been suffering from long outages only to have things go out again twelve hours later. Very unstable right now but they insist they’re working on it. The service is usually rock solid, though.
Hopefully it stabilizes soon! In the meantime, email is probably the best way to communicate as that requires much fewer resources than pulling the site up π
Now that the site’s back online, how do we want to proceed with the email issues?
You could also use something like a sheetpan. Any large piece of metal will work! But, yes, it’ll look weird unless it’s in the kitchen π
Microwaves are good for a lot of things! π
Weird. Usually, that information is stored in RAM as opposed to ROM
Could have been a caching issue. I know sometimes it takes a day or so before the favicons get updated in Chrome when something changes.
Nope, no issues with logging in here π
Yay! Glad to be back online π
For the buzzing, I included some tips in the other thread that may help π
No idea on the network share but have you tried removing the networked device and then readding it? Maybe it’ll clear some cobwebs out. I have to do that with my printer every now and then for Windows to properly pick it up
I haven’t seen a power button on a keyboard in years. Do they still put them on the keyboards? Last one I had with the button on it was an old Mac from the early 90’s/late 80’s.
For the EMF interference, you can try putting some aluminum foil on the side of the case facing the radio. That’ll create an RF shield and may help some. If not, you can always use the foil in the oven π
For the amp here, I had some buzzing coming in from it to the speakers that I fixed by buying some shielded caps for the RCA jacks.
Awesome! We’ll need to get some of those sounds added! π
Looking over their page there, it sounds like that’s for their business customers but it’s not entirely clear. Yeah, it’s starting to sound like the UPS is on its last legs. π
Yep. I haven’t been able to look at the CSS for it as I caught it on the phone but hopefully we can track it down at some point. Also, here’s hoping it’s not another dynamic one that will be difficult to style π
Happened to be viewing a topic that you were currently editing and found a nifty feature: the site tells you when the other party is in the editor. The notification needs some styling to match everything else, which is going to take some coordinating.
A test account may be useful for these scenarios but weβll want to see how the login flood protection works for logging in with two accounts simultaneously. It may get sick π

I think it serves as a counter for the blacklist but I’m not entirely sure.
Yep, selective site clearing would be quite handy. π

Will need to see if I can get it! British series are rather hard to tune in to here. π
Saw Dolls yesterday and that was a lot of fun. Wasn’t the same level as Puppet Master but still worth it π
Ugh. Sounds like they want to try and let it lapse so that they can push the work onto the new hosting company thatβs taking over. Doesnβt exactly inspire confidence π

Yeah, we just hit our dry season. Granted, we didn’t get much of a wet season this year. I remember several years ago, we had rain every day for two months. Definitely didn’t get that this year.
Yep. We don’t get too many of these kinds of things here but they do in other parts of the country. I wonder, could a fight have broken out on the boat? The article doesn’t go into much on how well they knew each other. The linked article in the reference links is about the organization of the management district. π
Should be but I’m not sure how to add images to MediaWiki articles. Never done that before. Will need to parse those articles later on. The old photo copies are a hard for me to read π
That refers to the cookies being pulled in from the current site as opposed to the global list. When you turn them off, you can add them to the whitelist to let them save cookies while still blocking other sites π
I can test Firefox when I get the chance and see how its UI differs π
And added!
The site now has spoiler tags!
As of right now, they require manual entry into the editor and be used with the following:
<span class="stearnvault-spoiler">This is a spoiler</span>
This is a spoiler
Hover over the black box with the cursor to reveal it. On mobile, you tap the box to reveal it π
