A cookie is stored for WP login data, and on this machine, one for gravatar. Chrome has a countdown for these re following image:
      Cookies
Note the “0 sites allowed” Now it’s “1 site allowed,” and turning Third-party cookies off in there gets “No sites blocked” instead. Could this confusion be reproducible on other browsers?

That refers to the cookies being pulled in from the current site as opposed to the global list. When you turn them off, you can add them to the whitelist to let them save cookies while still blocking other sites 🙂

I can test Firefox when I get the chance and see how its UI differs 🙂

Ah, so toggling the Third-party cookies button actually adds the regex’d site root url to the allow list in Cookies, still don’t get the “No sites blocked” – don’t they just mean “This site not blocked” or is there still misunderstanding?
Thanks, at least we know Firefox is superior in this regard. 🙂

I think it serves as a counter for the blacklist but I’m not entirely sure.

Yep, selective site clearing would be quite handy. 🙂
