The Type passed through doesn’t make much sense either, think he wanted something like make-unique, it came just a few years too late!
    Sounds good. 🙂

  • Skyscraper is an 21C update on Towering Inferno, never a dull moment means there’s enough to keep one awake until the end!
FTA are offering all 8 seasons of Homeland, quit after the third, not bad, especially when unadulterated (with a dash of adulteration) spy soaps is your thing.

Is there light at the end of the tunnel even after Microsoft Solitaire Turns Off Keyboard Lights, a new feature which could even be related to another thing.

The border protection folks have done a pretty good job of keeping citrus greening out of the country, so don’t think it was the cause as there was no discolouration in the last fine crop of oranges. Can never be absolutely sure though. 🙁
Beauty berries are … beautiful, and our feral deer would certainly go party on them. Unusual as a deciduous…[Read more]

  • No doubt Linux would be better, provide it won’t get barfed by clumsy keyboard-fu this way. 😛

Ah, the fans are now managed entirely by Pop!_OS in the then Linux partition – perfect when there is no automatic bricking. ) Get it now, my own particular folly is a penchant for skimming over poorly documented…[Read more]

  • Time has moved on, and even though the Ryzen still hasn’t got a sound card, it’s on the list. 🙂
Windows has been pretty good, overall, the major updates keep most of the user settings from the previous now, however there were some oddities intorduced:

Some of those issues in the OP are due to the Service Host (svchost.exe) chowing through the…[Read more]

  • Sigh, same issue again as in the OP, so responded to the thread again.
Also, Thermaltake pulled Outervision’s Supply Calculator licence, thus we’re off to a new Wizard with ScareGPU, Tin RAM, and the Cowardly Drive for an OEM recalc. 😛

How did the choc fudge cake go?
😛 And a dalek’s eyestalk to hold the carafe! 😛
That’s a rollicking good old fashioned icing set, and oh, a picture is just what’s required to titillate the tastebuds for sure!

Obtained a packet of donut peaches or Ondines being a popular store brand over here. Not quite as tasty a regular peaches, but a good…[Read more]

Wow, the ellipsograph is a beautiful geometric move however, and there was a couplet from Ovid that begged inclusion!
As a matter of interest regarding St. Francis and the following extract from this article:

On 24 December 1223, he organised a midnight mass that included a re-enactment of the event, with villagers playing the parts of Mary and…

Hallelujah, got something working re-counter with a modified .htaccess file in OldSite and a php script that writes a hit to a file each time the page is accessed. For a better breakdown of bot visitors, see Simple visitor counter, not sure if his code handles blockers though.
No matter, all that’s required now is for some PHP to read a file and…[Read more]

  • Funny how everything is going to Discord. Why don’t they make everything Discord anyhow – a Discord browwer, Discord OS, Discord apparel, watches, jewellery and other paraphernalia, Discord car – or even – a Discord government? And most importantly, a plug & play connector device. (hey – where Dis Cord?)

  • DeVaultSetter replied to the topic Morrowind in the forum Discussion 4 months ago

Yeah, OpenMW is a must. Just run Morrowind from a Network drive to get no mouse at the options menu, and a big buzz out of the speakers. A cold start is the only way out of the system freeze which is missed entirely in the event log. 🙁

There’s a long wait before svchost.exe frees up other processes on the Ryzen, so boosted it a little with the help of this from W10 forums. The value in the registry setting for SvcHostSplitThresholdInKB was increased from the 380000 default to 600000 (6GB) RAM. Not the full 8gb as other process won’t get a look-in. 😛
Reminder to self: In case…[Read more]

Thanks. Funny they are not wont to provide a list of “safe” hit counter sites, or even provide a safe hit counter themselves for sandbox purposes, which can be optionally blocked by their own software. A couple of bucks for each use could even got towards the upkeep of their site. They also block Google Analytics by default apparently.

A very occasional thread dealing with fixing anything broken on the Old Site page linked in the top ribbon. The form of the page is at it was pretty much 30 years back, uses frames and there are issues with onMouseOver bricked by the activity in the quoteboxes. The easiest thing conceptually is to pause the JS script on a mouse over image,…[Read more]

That’s an amazing set – it’s all at IA in pretty good MP3 format, just in case we miss out. There was a 2020 vinyl release of the Ballad of Champions at Discogs, out of stock ath the moment.

Yep, been on The Chunnel, it’s worked out very well considering the traffic volume and a few issues. Materials are the major issue deep in the ocean as the pressures are tremendous – things could easily go the way of Oceangate. 🙁

As a matter of interest relating to this thread, came across the Android Internals::A Confectioner’s Cookbook, a work of some consequence which contains among other things an expanding Android Device Database.
