There’s a long wait before svchost.exe frees up other processes on the Ryzen, so boosted it a little with the help of this from W10 forums. The value in the registry setting for
SvcHostSplitThresholdInKBwas increased from the 380000 default to 600000 (6GB) RAM. Not the full 8gb as other process won’t get a look-in. π

Thanks. Funny they are not wont to provide a list of “safe” hit counter sites, or even provide a safe hit counter themselves for sandbox purposes, which can be optionally blocked by their own software. A couple of bucks for each use could even got towards the upkeep of their site. They also block Google Analytics by default apparently.

A very occasional thread dealing with fixing anything broken on the Old Site page linked in the top ribbon. The form of the page is at it was pretty much 30 years back, uses frames and there are issues with

That’s an amazing set – it’s all at IA in pretty good MP3 format, just in case we miss out. There was a 2020 vinyl release of the Ballad of Champions at Discogs, out of stock ath the moment.
Funny thing, posted on this Reddit thread saying Armory Crate works well enough on the Ryzen machine. Ding dong, ding dong works like a song because it was uni…[Read more] -

Yep, been on The Chunnel, it’s worked out very well considering the traffic volume and a few issues. Materials are the major issue deep in the ocean as the pressures are tremendous – things could easily go the way of Oceangate. π
That’s an amazing collection right there, and a good chance most of the movies ending up at the IA for our viewing…[Read more] -

As a matter of interest relating to this thread, came across the Android Internals::A Confectioner’s Cookbook, a work of some consequence which contains among other things an expanding Android Device Database. On the is listed the rather venerable Samsung Galaxy Star Plus with a system snapshot taken back in 2013. Here’s a listing of (most of) the…[Read more]

Down Detector links to external status pages for popular sites like Steam, Netflix, Amazon. Surprised not to see StearnVault listed – possibly due to the reassuring fact we are detected as currently up and running … well. π

Wow, there’s a nice little video on this BBC page that describes the journey, which is unfortunately not a cosy train ride.
