Received some birthday scratch lottery tickets upon which there was a note saying that either their website or the Android app could scan them for you, revealing the results that way. Good idea so thought, and to save a bunch of nails promptly went about doing so.
The durst scan window in the app was maximised, yet did not pick up any of the…[Read more] -

Yes it was, and they included evidence of the battery having been vetted with an attached note entitled “Battery Qualification Test” revision “123”, tabulating Date, Time, Operator IDs, Model, Serial numbers, Voltage and Impedance all signed off. Quite weighty as well, so transit costs may prohibit any return if it turns out to be a dud.

Yeah, Scorsese’s yuppie nightmare cycle sounds like a fair addition to the burgeoning hamster wheel backlog over here. π
Pretty sure that version of Firecracker showed up on FTA about a year ago, she was good in the action scenes at least.
Hope they bring Lawnmower Man to FTA here, anything from a Stephen King story is worth a gander. π

Yes, seems OK, now have to test the rig on it. π
Oh, and beneath the molded pulp packaging was, yes, the instructions for installation. Their download url for it is a tiny image which takes a while to load in the browser, no doubt small enough to obscure the doc id (990-1603V) and date of publication (10/2005) on the top left. In searching through Dostips (mentioned previous page) came across this post:
DOS is an old operating system. DISK OPERATING SYSTEM. What you mean is batch is old but in reality as far as scripting languages and shells go it is not even as old as CSH or TCSH or Korn for that matter.
He forgot to mention Thompson on primordial Unix back in ’71.…[Read more]

In Windows the only option provided is FAT32, could try an NFTS formatted flash for Recovery, could it be their program would actually query the file system?
No recovery required yet, as everything is fine now, as the deck chairs on the Titanic are all aligned and looking very comfortable. πJust succumbed the urge to oscillate from the thread…[Read more]

In Chrome, clicking “Login” at the top left of the home page gets a list of sites including WordPress.org (but not including Stearnvault.com) instead of getting the regular blue frame logion box at centre of screen. The obvious way to avoid any oddities is to navigate to a forum post and login at the post area, doesn’t repro after logging off,…[Read more]

As USB sticks are quite cheap these days, purchased 64gb one from the local office suppliers. All well and good until it came to make it a recovery drive. The recovery program spat the dummy not recognizing the format. Windows did report 64gb as per volume info on the drive, so went ahead and formatted it through explorer – funny that it would…[Read more]

Looks very nice. Never had any luck over here with e-shavers and batteries, mainly because everything then was Ni-Cad. Which explains the preference for power straight to the sockets – (and hence the rickety connections π ). So good idea to check on the efficacy and user experience of any battery powered units.

No problem with the actual shaving moves, even with the blades blunt as they are. The ultimate wish is for a blunt blade flash alert, requiring a snazzy kind of shaver with such self-check features. π
Better performance in Freecell today.
Wonder why MS can’t provide direct urls for those results, other than more paying customers that is. π

My kind of movie, pity about the subtitles, on these screens one has to squint.
Johhny Mnemonic was a nice concept, the intro got you in, somehow the rest of it failed to retain much interest, probably attributable to a set of expectations of the movie at odds with those of the director. π
And now for something completely different, the 40 year…[Read more] -

Up here have an old Philips HQ6415, downstairs an HQ6946 which has an online registration posted somewhere.
Did get replacement blades three or four years ago for both, worn out again unfortunately. The big problem with these is the socket connector is too loose, so cord tends to fall out while in use. Might not be an issue with the pricier…[Read more] -

it’s safe to say there was an acute awareness of the two HDRs, even though a little voice piped up to say, “yes, play Oblivion with this on in windows, and you won’t have to worry about the HDR in the game settings.” Pixies have teamed up with goblins again. In any case, there’s another reason to skip the Windows HDR settings on the ViewSonic, is…[Read more]

Merlin’s name was actually Emrys, only used by Druids and diviners in the show.
Their reason for ethereal plots is that ghosts are of that composition, an idea that could have been conveyed in the film’s prologue, Carradine would have been the perfect choice. π

Thought it might be worth throwing in a passing mention to the old LOTR TCG (not to be confused with the LOTR Card Game) in the off chance you had not seen it. There was quite an adverse reaction to the game at the time, hopefully The Players’ Council have made the game playing experience more palatable for the detractors. -

Grease is always a problem, what was once tried here was to dip a hard med/small paintbrush into a cup containing hot water and a good squeeze of detergent concentrate, and holding the keyboard upside down, run the brush slowly around the keys. Haven’t seen that one, did see the remake which, although not boasting a particularly intricate plotline, was memorable enough.
As a consequence, many of the innocent bystanders immediately dropped to the floor and egg-spired, no doubt. πIt’s easy to see what is wrong with Hollow Man, notably the wonky script and the implementation of Kevin…[Read more]
