Saw Happy Birthday To Me and it can probably be skipped. Well made in terms of crew but in terms of quality of plot and all? Nope. Little coherent plot and the flashback sequences just happen out of the blue, confusing things further. It also brought nothing new to the table.

Switchblade Sisters was pretty fun. Good bits of humor scattered throughout to lighten up the tone but the fight scenes weren’t well choreographed. Lots of unskilled flailing of fists 😛
Didn’t realize Jeffery Dean Morgan did a whole lot outside of TV shows.
Got Sleeper on the list. Pretty sure I’ve seen bits and pieces of it but that’s okay!…[Read more]

Oh my Zsh looks like a really friendly interface for terminal wrox, with the added bonus of batteries included, they say. 🙂
Yeah, a spaceship simulator to navigate the wide open parsecs, guess that’s all in NMS – heaps of others like Universe Sandbox for instance.
Hibernation has reared its hiber-finicky visage yet again, now N++ will drop loaded…[Read more] -

I’ve never had much luck with QR codes myself. Often, the autofocus craps out right as the camera is trying to snap the code. Haven’t tried with other applications, though. And these devices are supposed to make our lives a little less frustrating! 😛

Great! Hopefully the testing notes mean you won’t need to return it any time soon 🙂
At some point, I’ll probably wind up with an NAS. Still need to do a lot of tidying up before one can go on the wish-list. Also need to find a place to stash the Thelio box until the warranty is up. The box is huge! 😛

Rigs of Rods looks like an interesting driving simulator. Depending on how accurate its physics are, it could be a useful training tool. Will need to download it at some point to find out.

Received some birthday scratch lottery tickets upon which there was a note saying that either their website or the Android app could scan them for you, revealing the results that way. Good idea so thought, and to save a bunch of nails promptly went about doing so.
The durst scan window in the app was maximised, yet did not pick up any of the…[Read more] -

Added the main sites for some of the games to the first post. Tried to get the global URLs but the one for the Pokemon card game is region based. Will need to do some digging to see if I can track down the global URL.

Yes it was, and they included evidence of the battery having been vetted with an attached note entitled “Battery Qualification Test” revision “123”, tabulating Date, Time, Operator IDs, Model, Serial numbers, Voltage and Impedance all signed off. Quite weighty as well, so transit costs may prohibit any return if it turns out to be a dud.

Use Bash myself though I know a lot of people these days love C Shell or even Zsh. Probably need to give C shell a whirl one day. 🙂

Yeah, tracking down manuals for older products can be hard! It’d be nice if the manufacturers kept an archive for them but not all of them do, sadly. For my turntable, I had to grab it from a third-party site even though Thorens is still going strong.
Looks pretty straightforward: just a matter of popping open the compartment and slotting it in.…[Read more]

Yeah, Scorsese’s yuppie nightmare cycle sounds like a fair addition to the burgeoning hamster wheel backlog over here. 🙂
Pretty sure that version of Firecracker showed up on FTA about a year ago, she was good in the action scenes at least.
Hope they bring Lawnmower Man to FTA here, anything from a Stephen King story is worth a gander. 🙂

Yes, seems OK, now have to test the rig on it. 🙂
Oh, and beneath the molded pulp packaging was, yes, the instructions for installation. Their download url for it is a tiny image which takes a while to load in the browser, no doubt small enough to obscure the doc id (990-1603V) and date of publication (10/2005) on the top left. Directly under that…[Read more] -

In searching through Dostips (mentioned previous page) came across this post:
DOS is an old operating system. DISK OPERATING SYSTEM. What you mean is batch is old but in reality as far as scripting languages and shells go it is not even as old as CSH or TCSH or Korn for that matter.

Been a while so I had to reacquaint myself with how Windows works…
Looks like that’s a limitation in Windows. The Windows tools only have the ability to create a 32 GB volume but the OS has no problem recognizing and working with it up to its maximum size of 16 TB. In order to go above 32 GB, you’ll need to use a different tool or file system.…[Read more]

In Windows the only option provided is FAT32, could try an NFTS formatted flash for Recovery, could it be their program would actually query the file system?
