Despite a lot of folks calling them dead formats (they’re not and still have good uses), 4k Blu-Ray discs and SACDs are still widely available. The latter is mostly available from specialty stores but there’s quite a selection!

Quite fond of Sin City. Picked up the graphic novel last year and it’s pretty enjoyable. It uses mostly sketch art instead of traditional comic art and is also in black and white, giving it an interesting look. It really worked out rather well
Saw Demon Seed yesterday and the plot made zero sense! It wasn’t even the fun kind of bewildering. It…[Read more]

Used to keep boxes in case of returns, the general experience is if anything ended up faulty, the box had gone, as the unit had exceeded warranty anyway. π

The Woods is on the list, and did see the Changeling many years ago, classic horror, and enjoyed the soundtrack especially.
Often wondered what it would be like if everything we receive in content is presented in a Sin City format. Especially news feeds, events of the world delivered by shadowy silhouettes in fedoras with low hoarse voices…[Read more] -

Although KitchenAid are certainly expanding their design templates to accommodate an aesthetical integration in the kitchen decor, the right choice really depends on how the kitchen and contents are intended to look in the initial design phase.
Personally, all that is required from a mixer is reliability, efficiency and ease of use, – and a place…[Read more] -

The plot thickens! I just did a bit of a dive and they just removed the link from the site, the pages still exist. The quickly thrown together Wikipedia article from information gleaned from the paywalled article says it was due to permitting and construction worker shortages but, again, I haven’t been able to find any other articles and no…[Read more]

Not too surprising as they made very little progress on it but I was really looking forward to it.

Fast Five was fun, and the soundtrack didn’t disappoint:

I understand the point they’re making but the seed vault is still better than doing nothing at all. If we don’t have it, we’re definitely more likely to have issues than without it. That said, one option is to move it to a more favorable…[Read more]

So, yeah, this thing was announced: https://www.theatlantic.com/family/archive/2024/09/kitchenaid-evergreen-mixer-status-symbol/679896/
Highly impractical and expensive. For the same price, you may as well get an Ank and have a much better mixer.

Saw the 1995 version of Village of the Damned the other day and it wasn’t much fun, even for a bad film. Everything was very formulaic and predictable while the acting was stuff as though they were just going through the motions.
