Thanks, will snag it! 🙂
I’d play it in German but not only am I rusty, I doubt I’d really understand enough for it to make sense. 😛
Handy for engineering, though!

Nico at AfkMods mentioned GOGs giveaway of the point and click The Dark Eye: Chains of Satinav, downloading now. The manual for the KQ adventure-like looks really cool, the main gripe in game seems to be stuff lost in translation, oh well.

So the US government just gave AT&T the go ahead to start shutting down copper phone lines in favor of wireless. This is a huge mistake as wireless is a lot more susceptible to interference. Indeed, you can’t even use it in certain buildings. Without the copper backup, I see this as creating more issues than it solves.

Even for a not so die-hard fan of movie musicals, Hairspray (2007_film) had a few good scenes, the transformation of John Travolta was nothing short of phenomenal. Soundtrack was a little short of amazing, with numbers like “(You’re) Timeless to Me”:
On FTA they played The Daughter, local fare, a well…[Read more] -

We do have Festivus! Which is also my dad’s birthday 😛
Yep, waste is a big issue. I’ve been using ecofriendly trimmings myself (reusable bags for gifts, durable decorations that’ll stand the test of time, etc)but I’ve been having a hard time convincing others. 🙁
Yeah, Santa may morph into something else. Not sure what!
Thanks! You, too!

Myths don’t die, they just get put into cold storage, a place one suspects Santa is familiar with in any case. 😛
The association of Santa with Christmas holidays may live on more as a Santa Pause in the way of celebrating the beginning of Christianity. As for now, no letup in the plastic landfill armageddon of decorations, trees and wrap, a…[Read more] -

With how accessible information is these days, I suspect the Santa Claus myth will die out soon if it hasn’t already. It’s much easier for children to access information now, especially with the pervasiveness of smartphones, so they’re going to figure it out much sooner than in the past.

Finished Return of the Space Wizard yesterday, also known as Return of the Jedi, so that completes the pre-Disney films. May or may not watch the Disney ones as, canonically, the main story is supposed to end after Episode VI with the GE in disarray. That’s where the EU comes in (which Disney nullified): it’s supposed to fill in the gaps during…[Read more]

Doesn’t sound like a fun experience. I don’t know why I’d want a headache as a recreational activity 😛
Had that happen before a couple of months ago. Was in the middle of cooking a dish and a power outage occurs! Lasted a few minutes so I had to adjust the cooking. Was a bit annoying 😛
Should be doing alright. I’ve got one from my grandmother…[Read more]

Sin City is a classic. Really need to rewatch it at some point. It’s been too long
As we know, I like films about robots. So I watched Evolver the other day and that was fun. A bit too modern for my tastes, though. The 80s did robot films better in my opinion but de Lancie is always fun
Almost finished with rewatching the pre-Disney Star Wars…[Read more]

Fun little fact: some of the Walmart brand came pans are actually rebranded Wilton pans. When I got some pans there, someone had gotten lazy and simply slapped a Mainstays label (their private label) over the Wilton label. 😛
Those were my early baking days back in 2019 or so before I knew more about pans. 🙂

Heh, first read the conviction as:
50 hours of community service at the Hangover Recreation Commission.
Sure would have been a novel AA initiative!
Yeah, the general reaction to brownouts is folks getting browned off, as in a dropout in the middle of cooking the Christmas turkey, the roast is not!
A few Christmases back gave Mum a straw/wicker…[Read more] -

Ideally, we’d have something like fusion power for vehicles but, relatively speaking, cars are still pretty young even if they did come out a hundred years ago. That and fusion reactors are still massive pieces of equipment and only work for less than a second at the moment. Not exactly practical but we’re getting closer! 😛
Nice thing about…[Read more]

Not sure, probably costs more to produce and extract than the others, not mentioned much in the research section. Heck, made a suggestion in the talk page, just in case someone gets the urge to go dig. 😛

On November 28, 2024 at 6:27 pm Spastic Hamburger said Alright, picked up BeamNG.drive as it was on sale. The physics are good. Really good. And the UI is a lot more intuitive than in Rigs. As expected from being the same team, there are a lot of things that are similar. The controls are also pretty fluid. Not yet sure how well the AI controlled…

It also needs to have water filtration! Must keep the water clean! And does it need a water feature? Why not! Add in a fountain, a rock garden, and even an arboretum!
Could be carrying my bag of game stuff to the comic shop. That’s about all I can think of. Hopefully it’s better by the next time. It’s really annoying!

Time for something a little more traditional!
Don’t know the names of most of the traditional ones. I’m more of an oddball kind of person 😛

It’s perfect – a little bit of thatching more so. Not a lot of info about the water as we know – that’s a critical component for hot bubbly spas in our chicken doodle coop!
Sounds like you have been doing lifting – could that be the culprit?
Another oil spill – they’ll want to blame it on the old ships. Wonder how much of it can be cleaned? -

The buckle does look like a nicely attractive option! Would also look good in your travel bag! 🙂
The trick I’ve found with suction cups is to wet them first and they tend to stick better. Otherwise, yeah, I’ve always found them to be a pain! In a word, they can’t suck (but do!) 😛

There were intimations of Gotham, or even Sin City in Se7en through which Morgan Freeman and brad Pitt were guiding lights, the atmosphere and mood also kept the movie on course. By the very title, along with the early revelations, you knew pretty much well what was going to happen, which reduced the tension somewhat. But boy or boy, the surprise…[Read more]
