We used to get it more often than we do now. When I was back in high school, we’d usually get it once a year even if the flakes never made it to the ground.

Nope! That’s okay! I’ve got blankets and boxes to cover them with 🙂

Still haven’t decided what to do for my birthday yet. I’ll get it figured out 😛

  • Watched WALL-E again the other day. Got it on disc now so I can watch it anytime I want! 😀

And, speaking of, the folks over at Criterion are starting to pump out 4k discs of classics. Interestingly, their shop doesn’t have a list of all films currently in print other than the 4k shop so you need to apply a filter to the master list. Bit of an…[Read more]

    Cool!

On our side of the pond, we have WonderWorks

Haven’t been in years and I wish I was able to. It was a lot of fun!

So we have one weather outlet predicting snow for my birthday here. None of the others have gone that far yet but we’ll see. Just supposed to be flurries but I’ll take what I can get!

  • Thanks, will snag it! 🙂

I’d play it in German but not only am I rusty, I doubt I’d really understand enough for it to make sense. 😛

    Handy for engineering, though!

  • So the US government just gave AT&T the go ahead to start shutting down copper phone lines in favor of wireless. This is a huge mistake as wireless is a lot more susceptible to interference. Indeed, you can’t even use it in certain buildings. Without the copper backup, I see this as creating more issues than it solves.

We do have Festivus! Which is also my dad’s birthday 😛

Yep, waste is a big issue. I’ve been using ecofriendly trimmings myself (reusable bags for gifts, durable decorations that’ll stand the test of time, etc)but I’ve been having a hard time convincing others. 🙁

Yeah, Santa may morph into something else. Not sure what!

    Thanks! You, too!

With how accessible information is these days, I suspect the Santa Claus myth will die out soon if it hasn’t already. It’s much easier for children to access information now, especially with the pervasiveness of smartphones, so they’re going to figure it out much sooner than in the past.

  • Finished Return of the Space Wizard yesterday, also known as Return of the Jedi, so that completes the pre-Disney films. May or may not watch the Disney ones as, canonically, the main story is supposed to end after Episode VI with the GE in disarray. That’s where the EU comes in (which Disney nullified): it’s supposed to fill in the gaps during…[Read more]

    Doesn’t sound like a fun experience. I don’t know why I’d want a headache as a recreational activity 😛

Had that happen before a couple of months ago. Was in the middle of cooking a dish and a power outage occurs! Lasted a few minutes so I had to adjust the cooking. Was a bit annoying 😛

Should be doing alright. I’ve got one from my grandmother…[Read more]

  • Sin City is a classic. Really need to rewatch it at some point. It’s been too long

As we know, I like films about robots. So I watched Evolver the other day and that was fun. A bit too modern for my tastes, though. The 80s did robot films better in my opinion but de Lancie is always fun

Almost finished with rewatching the pre-Disney Star Wars…[Read more]

Fun little fact: some of the Walmart brand came pans are actually rebranded Wilton pans. When I got some pans there, someone had gotten lazy and simply slapped a Mainstays label (their private label) over the Wilton label. 😛

Those were my early baking days back in 2019 or so before I knew more about pans. 🙂

Ideally, we’d have something like fusion power for vehicles but, relatively speaking, cars are still pretty young even if they did come out a hundred years ago. That and fusion reactors are still massive pieces of equipment and only work for less than a second at the moment. Not exactly practical but we’re getting closer! 😛

    Nice thing about…[Read more]

As expected from being the same team, there are a lot of things that are similar. The controls are also pretty fluid. Not yet sure how well the AI controlled…

It also needs to have water filtration! Must keep the water clean! And does it need a water feature? Why not! Add in a fountain, a rock garden, and even an arboretum!

Could be carrying my bag of game stuff to the comic shop. That’s about all I can think of. Hopefully it’s better by the next time. It’s really annoying!

    The cargo ship…

  • Time for something a little more traditional!

Don’t know the names of most of the traditional ones. I’m more of an oddball kind of person 😛

The buckle does look like a nicely attractive option! Would also look good in your travel bag! 🙂

The trick I’ve found with suction cups is to wet them first and they tend to stick better. Otherwise, yeah, I’ve always found them to be a pain! In a word, they can’t suck (but do!) 😛

Sucks about the login issues over there 🙁

  • Fortunately, BBC sells a lot of their series on their online store so I may be able to get caught up at some point. Definitely love British dramas. They’re so much better than what we turn out!

Finally got around to watching Revenge of the Sith. Without reading the reviews first (no idea how it’s regarded), in my personal opinion it wasn’t bad…[Read more]

No but we can have rocket-side chats!

Haven’t really shopped but I’ve definitely explored before. Also, art museums. Really enjoy them but they’re often hard for me to get to. For some reason, they also put them on the opposite side of town from me! Poor planning on their part!

Definitely may pick up some decor items from the MoMA store.…[Read more]

So Bing is a little better. The first page is still filled with toys but I got a few diecast models on the second page. Speaking of, perhaps I should browse the diecast collections instead if searching figurines tends to give me toys.

  • Spastic Hamburger replied to the topic Random in the forum Discussion 1 year, 4 months ago

Blarg. Amazon is such a pain to find stuff on. I want to get some spaceship figurines to help inspire me so I plug that in the search bar. It gives me nothing but cheap space shuttle and astronaut toys. No rockets or fictional starships (or even figurines), just children’s toys. 🙁
