  • Huh, never knew they also released a Backyard Skateboarding game. Looking at Wiki, it looks like they’ve been trying to get it going again. They could definitely try making at least adding one sport to the series: lacrosse. Wasn’t popular back then but it’s now popular enough to warrant a game. Could be fun.

Not familiar with that feature. Is…[Read more]

Not sure what the current quality is like but Cracked used to be a fun read. But, yeah, it’s going to be hard to fill the MAD hole.

Yeah, looks a bit pricey. May be worth checking a sample out at the newsstand first. Wikipedia has a pretty good list

Yuck! You could try something like OdoBan if they sell it over there. We use it over here and it…[Read more]

If there ever will be a fine satirical magazine like MAD on the stands again, yep, worth a thread. Still searching for humour, there are some stalwarts in isubscribe. ComicsUK definitely worth a lookover, love the funny folks:

  • Ad Astra was incredible. It focused almost entirely on the journey with a slight dash of the politics involved, giving us a nice and relaxing space film. The ongoing narration as opposed to current interactions really sold it as a narrative. You could actually feel the distance and tension it was trying to portray in lonely space. The visuals and…[Read more]

  • All the way back from ’97, and now only three comments. There was Backyard Skateboarding in 2005 apparently, – and what’s Dr. Octogonapus go to do with it? 😛

  • Do recall Ad Astra on FTA here some years back- it’s bound to make a re-appearance sometime.
Really that bad? Most of the FTA streaming sections boast a comprehensive line-up of goodies, old and new, it’s the migration over to Fetch that has uncovered bugs that make streaming more screaming than ever before. A lot of it appears to be on the Fetch…[Read more]

I remember old cartoons used to riff on that design by making it a hamster wheel or the like. 😀 Would be quite fun, though. Set it up with a gyroscope to keep you centered in the middle while the rest of with rolls around you. Attraction idea for the theme park thread?

Ah, didn’t realize that musical organs were that popular. Yeah, I see them at…[Read more]

  • Been a while 😀

  • Was thinking about Porky’s for this week but it’s not available for streaming over here. Think I may watch Ad Astra instead. Been a while since I watched a killer space film 🙂

Streaming is getting annoying. It’s getting harder and harder to find stuff on the platforms as the services are beginning to forgo traditional categories and sorting…[Read more]

  • Great!

Could be that the dates weren’t convertible so they were just set to the date of migration. There was a similar issue back on Dark Creations before I arrived that never got resolved.

Possibly! There is some discussion on the Talk page that last saw activity twelve years ago about it. Perhaps it’s time to revive it?

  • Another one with a good soundtrack bursting with Bacharach numbers like Girls Know How. 🙂
There is a lot of tension in Hereditary where things get a little bezonkers, especially Toni Collette, which explains the downvotes from the “average cinema-goer” according to CinemaScore. Well put together movie, recommended if really good old horror sugar…[Read more]

Despite “The North Wind and the Sun” still being used in phonetic sampling there were some who preferred to cry wolf. As it so happens, the wolf is in AI clothing now, because telling the difference between human and AI voice samples requires more of a better set of ears than before. Something the likes of Presbycusis have no answer for. 🙁

  • Belkin make really good stuff, so will keep an eye out. Have to replace an aging 6 outlet power board and – er – a few more around as well. 😛

  • So the Wikipedia article on brownouts is severely lacking and nigh useless: it’s basically just a dictionary definition with a short blurb of examples. Been experiencing that a lot on Wiki. Articles that were once well written and informative are now basic and generic. 🙁

Disney’s Lorcana Azurite Seas is coming out on 2024-11-14

Night Shift was a lot of fun. Some of the scenes were heavily inspired by After Hours but Winkler and Keaton had amazing synergy together. 🙂

I’ve mostly run the gamut of older horror films now after a couple of years so I figure it’s time for a bit of a change 😛

Could rewatch the old Universal Monsters films but I’ve seen those so many times that I want something a bit different 😛

I’m way overdo for a rewatch of Rain Man. Probably need to fix that! 🙂

  • Even the idea of persuading folks to setup, operate, and champion such clinics is itself enough to warrant such an argument. Design hint: all doors, windows and fittings are to be unhinged, to match the profiles of the inmates. 😛

Grinberg’s next project: convert the engine of a Model T Ford into a Hybrid, and talking of transportation, together with spheres, there is the Dynasphere, a modification for which could be implemented at funfairs to replace or augment dodgem cars. 😛
