Yep, it’s out! I’m still early in the game but it’s a lot of fun. They’ve added the ability to manipulate objects and attach them to things, which is a blast. I sent a Korok sliding along a railing while attached to a hook 😀
Got my guidebook on pre-order! I like the Zelda guidebooks. Even though I don’t always use them, I find them fun to have…[Read more]

Has the Zelda come in yet – Tears of the Kingdom is it? There are mods for it on Nexus, would those be usable for the Switch? Are these games bundled with modding kits, or is it stuff from (ex)gamedevs?

Sorry, been rather distracted lately working on the theme so I’ve been a bit slow
Yuck and yuck!

Yeah, it’d be nice to get an automatic message when getting close to the inactivity limit but few sites do that in my experience. Really not sure why. There are times when you sign up for a site but stop visiting for a few years before deciding…[Read more]

Use Clipgrab for youtube, which has undergone some criticism in the past – for me it is not problematic, mind you the ~100 mb d/l size does not account for relatively simple and uncluttered user interface. Clipgrab relies on this yt-dlp, an enormous project with no other purpose but to download stuff from youtube.
Signed up with PlayOK around 4 or…[Read more] -

Indeed, awesome actually! 🙂
Something going on with the Facebook account over here – probably hack of the email address. It isn’t easy to determine via Google what methods are exactly constituent to Facebook security, no doubt they have hived it off to a lo-cost OEM. One capable of capturing hack events very much on statistical inference.

It just occurred that italicised selections on the current font layout are to all intents and purposes indistinguishable. Worth trying out something else from the not exactly large range of font options in Twenty Twenty Three?

Got another item for the wish list: syntax highlighting. It’d be incredibly useful to have for forum posts and for blog posts, if we start writing them, for helping to make code snippets a bit more readable. 🙂

Sounds? Sounds!
And music!
Haven’t had much chance to listen to much the last several weeks as there’s been a lot going on but hopefully I can catch back up starting in a few days!

Excellent. This topic will be handy!
Ublock Origin is mostly for web browsers but it does have things like hosts files that may be handy. 🙂
As we now have this topic, here are some good software lists for finding something specific:

Seeing this is also a Sounds topic, how about the sound of the Large Hadron Collider?
(What would you call vigorous shaker for pineapple cocktails? A Pina Collider of course!) -

Looking through Robin’s style pack for spoiler tags – came up empty. A basic spoiler tag is as good as any, and not being a frequent user, it’s much further down the priority list. 🙂

Yes, the Goondocks, hey that’s – we’re in it. (Aside: Probably a good thing with own water as it is getting expensive around the city up north.)
Well, a “quality” creature feature – see what you mean – a popular one here on FTA that came close was Rampage.
Oh, you mean the 2021 version? The 1982 version doesn’t rate well compared to Sleepaway…[Read more] -

Yep! The films feature music by John Williams. They’re also going to reboot the films in the form of a TV series. A lot of people aren’t thrilled with it but I welcome it! Perhaps it’ll help them become…[Read more]

Reading about ejector seats in planes, and naturally the question arose as to were there any accidental touches on the ejector seat button. Turns out there was, in Vietnam apparently, amazing how the plane later survived the landing on autopilot.
The literary circles over here have been abuzz with controversy over plagiarism, this by John Hughes.…[Read more] -

No better way to kick this off with Ublock Origin mentioned here, of immediate interest is how it handles Microsoft Solitaire ads. Not much success in playing the challenges with various blocking techniques as discussed over at AutoHotKey, perhaps this breaks new ground?

You know, Alan Partridge has a poetical streak:
Reading them again? Must be good! When very young, read a lot of the William Books, and enjoyed them so much that read some of them again. Didn’t know there was a TV series made though.
