Ah, sounds more like belladonna, many forms of colocasia (including antiquorum), alocasia and even unrelated Xanthosoma require steaming to remove the effects of the crystallized calcium oxalate.
The sunflower is still alive, very bowed over now, and the leaves are beginning to pale. Would you recommend harvesting the flowerhead for the pot?

Sounds like it’s a known issue. A factory reset helped one, but not another.
    Someone suggested:

Go into settings > Device care > Performance profile and set the profile to light.

Is that setting on yours, it’s not found here, unfortunately, just auto-optimization under Performance.

    Sounds good 🙂

If you do go with Linux, I recommend trying XFCE for your desktop environment. KDE and GNOME are the big ones but I’ve never had KDE run well even on a good system (always seems sluggish for whatever reason) and GNOME be a bit heavier as well. You could go piecemeal but that takes a lot more work to get everyone to share the…[Read more]

Do appreciate the work gone into the Anandtech and 3dMark sites, the functionality is no doubt a bit more clunky if you don’t sign up.
This is planned to be a winter PC, thus a slightly unhinged reliance on cool ambient temperatures at least as far as pre global warming conditions go. 😛

Saw Demon of Paradise yesterday. It was a rip-off of The Creature from the Black Lagoon but was still pretty fun. It did have some hilarious moments, such as when the creature, in the water, jumps up and pulls down a helicopter. That shouldn’t even be possible unless it’s a few thousand pounds or is anchored to the bottom of the seabed!

If you do choose to upgrade the cooling, I recommend that you look at Noctua’s low profile coolers and fans if you don’t want to go with an AIO cooler (I still haven’t made the jump for whatever reason and still use air cooling). Make sure you measure before ordering to make sure it’ll fit! Noctua’s products are top notch. To give…[Read more]

Going with pretty basic, the igc has potential for some newer games on a tower with an i7 and possibly faster memory as demonstrated here:

No-one mentioned overheating in the comments there, fortunately this is only an i5, the docs tabulate heat dissipation to make us all feel safe. 🙂
    And, news flush,…[Read more]

I’m a bit nervous to do that as they contain a neurotoxin and require special processing. Don’t really feel comfortable with that risk involved.

We have century plants all over around here. They’re very popular with business for roadside decoration. We have some whose central stalks have gotten so tall they reach the utility poles!

Nope, sadly. I really wish there was one to fix the battery drain issues. I used to be able to go a week without having to charge the tablet before the update, now it’s every couple of days 🙁

We’re getting an Area 15 in Florida in the next few years. Sounds like it could be fun to explore the venue. 🙂

You mean no updates after the OneUI 6 update? None here either, no doubt there will be a few installed on the A8 after Android 14, might be even lucky enough to get Android 18 when it comes out.

Nope, no update here! Works okay for the most part, just pretty slow on ad heavy sites and sites with a lot of images. Running everything in a private browsing session does tend to help somewhat, though. Battery life, needless to say, is garbage at this point 😛

    Will check the settings menu!

For the Oblivion system, have you tried replacing the coin cell battery? When they go belly up, the board can start doing some funky things.

Yeah, sounds like it’s time to replace the aging workhorses. Always sad when a piece of tech dies 🙁

  • Spastic Hamburger replied to the topic Computer Setup in the forum Projects 5 months ago

Yeah, that’d work if you’re looking for pretty basic. You may want to upgrade the cooling a bit if you go with it, though. In my experience, the mass market brands often cut corners with the cooling so things can get a bit hot when you’re playing a game. Should also run No Man’s Sky, which I highly recommend you try at some point 🙂

The sequel isn’t much better. It spends nearly two hours focusing on his sister’s PTSD. It does have a redeeming feature: Weird Al makes a brief appearance. Still have half an hour left. Ugh but I’ll finish it. Once I start one, I force it through. I got through Plan 9! 😛

The Oblivion desktop is kaput after being powered on after some months in storage. The lights and fans turn on, the DVD door works if operated, no BIOS beep or light on keyboard, nothing on screen either.

The purchase of an HP Elite SFF 600 G9 from here could be correctly construed as being diametrically opposed to any religion not espousing branded products.
The reasons for it go like:

      • Cheap, free delivery, and good support.
      • Low power consumption.
      • Quiet operation

Random memory: many moons ago when I was in the market for a Blu-ray player, the store told me to buy a PS3 instead. Needless to say, I went to a different shop to get one. 😛

Saw the Halloween remake yesterday. Haven’t seen the first one so I don’t have much to compare it to but it came off as a rather run of the mill slasher. We had to sit through a good half hour or so of build-up before the story actually started, showing Michael in the asylum. While it was good to give them a backstory, I felt they overdid it…[Read more]
