<p>For the CPU, you&#8217;ll want <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Prime95" rel="nofollow ugc">Prime95</a></p>
<p>Granted, Prime95 is mostly for stress testing but could let you know if something is going belly up.</p>

After more experimenting, I&#8217;ve found that it&#8217;s the act of fully logging out and back in that fixes the flickering that is triggered by the screen locker as opposed to a reboot.</p>

I added <code>#include &lt;tchar.h&gt;</code> to <code>common/dl_str.h</code> and the error went away. Looking at the new <a href="https://github.com/deathssoul/MWEdit/actions/runs/23637321175/job/68849318355" rel="nofollow ugc">error log</a>, it looks like <code>_WIN32</code> isn&#8217;t being brought in from MSVC for whatever reason even though it&#8217;s a <a href="https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/cpp/preprocessor/predefined-macros?view=msvc-170" rel="nofollow ugc">compiler level macro</a>. Oftentimes, during an error, the compiler craps out and spits out bad data after the initial error so it&#8217;s very hard to debug things all at once. C++ is a lot more type safe than C and requires that you specify the return and parameter types everywhere 🙂</p>
