Note

Entered into a late partnership with brother Wilfred in running the wholesale grocery business at 175 East Road and 30 Fitzroy Street Cambridge.
He incurred a shrapnel above the knee at the third battle of Ypres, Passchendaele in 1917 (WW1) and developed a rare bone marrow infection. It flared up periodically after his marriage, and persisted until his last days all the while playing club tennis and hockey for the county for many years with his lifelong friend Frank Pointer.
