Giant robots fighting fires even? First thing that comes up is the Dragon Firefighter which has seen some improvements:
Simon is funny, wonderful if he could pop up in a feed – never checked out theRegister before, cool stuff, doesn’t look as if they have a newsletter at this time.
A feeble attempt in…[Read more] -

Tried out Lorcana yesterday and it’s pretty fun. The game is pretty chill and is pretty straightforward, unlike modern YGO. As far as gameplay goes, it’s similar to a boardgame but without the board aspect. I’ll probably try it for a bit and see how it goes π

What filesystem did you format it as? It may have been a filesystem limitation.
Weird that original run didn’t properly set up the system files. Of course, I’ve never tried to set up a Windows recovery drive (I’ve always just used the installation media). Are things well on the way to recovery now, then?

As USB sticks are quite cheap these days, purchased 64gb one from the local office suppliers. All well and good until it came to make it a recovery drive. The recovery program spat the dummy not recognizing the format. Windows did report 64gb as per volume info on the drive, so went ahead and formatted it through explorer – funny that it would…[Read more]

Here’s an interesting blurb on wormholes: https://futurism.com/the-byte/small-wormholes-fabric-space-time
Got more articles buried in my list somewhere. Wormhole research has really been getting popular over the last several months!

Yay! New story! Always did love the series! π Been reading it for twenty years:P

My base in NMS is coming along rather nicely. Got a roamer bay assembled so that will help with exploring the planet I’m on and I may toss a few more bases on it later. Not sure as it’s nothing special, just the first base the game had me make to get used to base building. π
Still want to build a base on that desert planet but I’ll get there! I…[Read more]

Saw After Hours yesterday and it was a lot of fun. Not a whole lot of plot but that’s okay!

Thanks. Took a closer look at the reviews and they’re pretty consistent with regards to the upper lip area. Sounds like the spacing of the rotaries is too much to properly cover the area. Back to the drawing board!
Yeah, I’ve always had battery anxiety. Really wish we’d go back to batteries that were easily replaceable by the consumer. π
Ugh.…[Read more]

Looks very nice. Never had any luck over here with e-shavers and batteries, mainly because everything then was Ni-Cad. Which explains the preference for power straight to the sockets – (and hence the rickety connections π ). So good idea to check on the efficacy and user experience of any battery powered units.
We’re in for some dry and warmer…[Read more] -

Thanks! Taking a look at them now, this one looks like a good middle of the road option?
Great!
I really miss games hosting the leaderboards on an easily accessible site. π Granted, that hasn’t been much of a thing in a long time but I still miss it! It was fun to check in and see how you were doing compared to everyone else throughout the day.…[Read more]

No problem with the actual shaving moves, even with the blades blunt as they are. The ultimate wish is for a blunt blade flash alert, requiring a snazzy kind of shaver with such self-check features. π
Better performance in Freecell today.
Wonder why MS can’t provide direct urls for those results, other than more paying customers that is. π

Finally got around to seeing The Stepford Wives the other day. While it wasn’t bad, it wasn’t exactly my cup of tea. Found it a bit bland for some reason or other.

Yeah, not a fan of subtitles. Over here, it was dubbed but they hadn’t bothered to change any of the credits to english. π
Probably hasn’t aged well, either. Still on the list, though! Almost watched it a few weeks ago but watched something else. π
Do like Gibson’s writing. He even did an episode of the X-Files!

My kind of movie, pity about the subtitles, on these screens one has to squint.
Johhny Mnemonic was a nice concept, the intro got you in, somehow the rest of it failed to retain much interest, probably attributable to a set of expectations of the movie at odds with those of the director. π
And now for something completely different, the 40 year…[Read more] -

Saw The Lift yesterday and that was pretty fun, if somewhat cheesy. In one scene, the elevators play hide and seek with a girl before eating her teddy bear. π

How do they handle the upper lip? They’re not too large, are they? My only experience is with foil razors π
Looks like most electric razors these days are cordless. Not too worried about battery capacity as they’ll only be used for a brief time daily so it’ll be a long time before the batteries are no longer able to hold a charge. Sadly, it does…[Read more]

Huh, no device loading is pretty weird. Had that happen over here a couple of months ago but it cleared itself up after a few microcode and kernel updates (even weirder as that shouldn’t have affected the UEFI). Does everything still work in the OS itself?

Up here have an old Philips HQ6415, downstairs an HQ6946 which has an online registration posted somewhere.
Did get replacement blades three or four years ago for both, worn out again unfortunately. The big problem with these is the socket connector is too loose, so cord tends to fall out while in use. Might not be an issue with the pricier…[Read more] -

A rather irritating issue has cropped up with the HP, no usable mouse or keyboard at the UEFI. No-one is biting, hopefully something after posting a few more updates there?
