Note
There is some confusion as the 1851 census has a 52 year old tax collector by the name of James Stearn born in Hilton, Cambridgeshire married to a Susan ... born in Grantchester both residing at 80 Village Lane, Grantchester. No children at that address.
The same census also mentions a 48 year old farm labourer John Stearn with a 39 year old wife Eliza resident at 146 Workhouse Yard, Trumpington. Children are Elizabeth, 13, James, 11, henry, 6 and John, 1.
To date, no connection to the above found through the Stearn/Stearne tree under consideration.
