Do use the Google widget search all the time on the Android tablet. Great, although something reset it to open on the Home tab rather than Search. The other two tabs are now Notifications and Activity, as it appears Discover has now entered the stream of, well, eternal discovery.
This has the slightly undesirable effect of having to make two clicks in order to type your key words. Two clicks will be the end of us all assuredly. 😛
Before updating “Google” on the tablet, it was weird as most of the time activation of the box got the Home tab, the rest of the time got the Search tab. Updating Google helped a bit, albeit no way of clearing “cache” or “data” for the app in Settings.
Long press on the search bar to get its Settings up, look for the Shortcuts on the right, and try any of those – “Dictionary” selected here. Reselecting “None” from there seems to have brought back the one-click. For now at least.
