Inserting emoji on Linux isn’t exactly intuitive. Ctrl + Shift + E brings up an “e” in the text area. At first, I thought it was just a letter but if you hit Space, it brings up the emoji menu. You can also type in the command for the emoji after the “e” before the space to automatically select it. You still need to click on it to confirm, though. They should make it more obvious 😛
