    Some of the programs in subscription have of late developed a tendency to want their users to click buttons rather than use the pull-down menus. Even if you end up using just the buttons, they won’t provide an option to hide the menus for whatever reason. On the other hand, clearing the clutter of useless buttons, gets a nice ribbon of wasted space – as mentioned here:

    it’s fair to say that from the programmers’ perspective, these issues aren’t as easy as they first appear. 🙁
    Edit: The HP did nag for a BIOS upgrade related restart a few weeks back, and after declining on 3 or 4 occasions, it then rebooted without prompting for saved files in N++. This time, it again prompted for a BIOS update, which went without a hitch – and without rebooting. Cool, … if there is a black screen or BSOD next restart, we’ll have a good indication as to the cause. 😛
